Checking in Ludhiana Central Jail: 15 mobiles and WIFI dongles found, FIR lodged

In Ludhiana Central Jail of Punjab, undertrials are taking mobiles to the barracks by some or the other Jugaad. Checking is done by the jail administration every day. Sometimes, the officers get the checking done in the jail even at midnight. Now, in two separate cases, a total of 15 mobiles and 1 WIFI dongle have been found with undertrials from the Central Jail. The jail administration has lodged an FIR against these undertrials in Police Station Division Number 7.

Mobiles found during checking in different blocks of the jail

According to the information, Assistant Superintendent Rajiv Kumar started a sudden checking campaign in different blocks of the jail. During the checking, different barracks and bathrooms were searched. After checking, the officers recovered a total of 15 mobiles of different companies.

Internet was used through WIFI dongle

A WIFI dongle has also been found. The rogue undertrials used to use the internet from inside the jail with the help of WIFI dongle. The police are now investigating to find out who the accused were in contact with through mobile phones and Wi-Fi dongles. In whose name are the mobile SIMs found in their mobiles being used.

It should be noted here that on Tuesday, Jail Minister Lal Jeet Singh Bhullar had also inspected the jail and had given strict orders to the administration to keep conducting checking campaigns in the jail every day. He had also heard the problems of many undertrials.

Police have registered a case against accused Arjun Bhati, Mohammad Afzal, Kamaljit Singh, Sharanjit Singh, Dhanjay alias Deepu, Aniket Buri under section 52 A (1) Prison Act.
