Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to meet entrepreneurs in Ludhiana; discuss new industrial policy

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will meet entrepreneurs in Ludhiana today. He will speak with representatives of various industry associations in Ludhiana. The Punjab government is planning to introduce a new industrial policy, so the Chief Minister will likely discuss this with entrepreneurs as well.

Before this, the Chief Minister will honor selected women from across the state at the Dr. Manmohan Singh Auditorium of Punjab Agricultural University, including IAS and IPS officers working in the state.

After honoring the women, the Chief Minister will hold a meeting with entrepreneurs at a hotel. The Industry Department has invited representatives from various industrial associations, including hosiery, bicycles, sewing machines, textiles, nutboards, auto parts, and bicycle parts. Industry Minister Sanjeev Arora will also be present.

Yesterday, the Punjab government reduced electricity rates for domestic, commercial, and industrial purposes. Furthermore, the government has also halted the annual three percent increase in industrial electricity rates. Small businesses have been given significant flexibility in increasing their electricity meter load. In such a situation, he can make entrepreneurs feel good by listing the various exemptions offered to them.

Discussion may take place on industries located in the Master Plan Area

More than 50,000 MSME units in Ludhiana are located in the Master Plan Area. Orders to relocate these units outside the city were issued several years ago, but the government extends the deadline by one year each year. Entrepreneurs will also discuss this issue with the Chief Minister to remove this dangling threat from their heads.
