China and the US Want to Build Better Relations with India

It is difficult to say clearly where each country stands in global diplomacy. The current situation is such that every country is prioritizing its own interests. The needs of backward or needy countries are considered later. China and the US can be named first among those who do this. China has always tried to support terrorist activities in India by backing Pakistan. But now it seems that with the changing times, China also needs to recognize the direction of the wind.C

The 23rd round of military commander-level talks between India and China focused on maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh. Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh are areas where China does not refrain from mischief or asserting its dominance. In Eastern Ladakh, 50,000 to 60,000 soldiers from both countries stood face-to-face. Now it seems that another facet of relations between India and China may emerge.

Within the last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met twice, which reduced tensions, and special representative-level talks for a permanent solution to the border dispute also began. China allowed Indian pilgrims to travel to Kailash Mansarovar. India also started issuing visas to Chinese citizens. For the first time since 2020, direct flights between India and China have resumed. Military commander-level talks also took place after almost a year. The tone of these talks was also one of commitment to peace and security.

There are disputed areas, but the disputes should be resolved through dialogue, not through bullets. China is changing its stance towards India for its commercial interests, but this should be done honestly, not while simultaneously supporting Pakistan. The unpredictable American President Donald Trump, who changes his stance with the wind, also said that we are going to strike a trade deal with India.

Donald Trump again praised Modi, saying that he is like an ideal father but also strict. Along with this, Trump reiterated that he had brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan by applying pressure through tariffs. It is being reported that two days ago, discussions took place between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his American counterpart Marco Rubio in Malaysia. During these discussions, it was indicated that the sanctions imposed on buying Russian oil might be lifted.Now Trump is also showing an inclination towards a trade deal. The reason for this is that the deal is as necessary for America as it is for India. If Indian exports go to America with high taxes, they will be sold at higher prices there, and America, already suffering from inflation, cannot tolerate this. The protests by thousands of people on the streets of major American cities must also have influenced Trump.

Meanwhile, India has adopted a policy of diversification in foreign trade. The latest news is that we are also going to have a free trade agreement with the countries of the European Union. Perhaps this is why America now does not want to be left behind in the race to pursue its own interests. That is why Trump has again signaled his willingness to strike a trade deal. This signal is not without significance because on October 30, Trump also met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and there too his attitude was one of eagerness to do business with China
