Chirag Paswan’s LJP-RV distances itself from Swatantra Bhardwaj, seeks FIR over false claim

New Delhi: The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has distanced itself from social media influencer Swatantra Bhardwaj and sought the registration of an FIR against him, alleging that he falsely used the name of party chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan.

The party filed a complaint at the Parliament Street Police Station, alleging that Bhardwaj had used Chirag Paswan’s name and claimed an association with the LJP (Ram Vilas). The party has urged police to formally record that Bhardwaj has no association with the party.

LJP-RV seeks strict action against Bhardwaj

The party has called for strict action against Bhardwaj over what it described as false claims linking him with Chirag Paswan and the LJP-RV.

The complaint comes amid a controversy surrounding Bhardwaj and his alleged involvement in an assault on the father of student activist Nishu Azad during a protest in Delhi. Bhardwaj was later detained by police in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with the case.

The controversy intensified after videos and statements attributed to Bhardwaj circulated on social media, including claims about his association with political figures.

Chirag Paswan says his name and photo were misused

Chirag Paswan has also objected to what he described as the misuse of his name and photograph. He said that meeting people and taking photographs is part of his political life but maintained that using his name and image to create a false association was not acceptable.

The LJP-RV has reiterated that Bhardwaj has no association with the party or its president and has asked the police to take appropriate legal action.

Bhardwaj controversy gains political attention

The issue has also triggered a wider political controversy, with questions being raised over the alleged political links claimed by Bhardwaj.

The case has drawn attention following the alleged assault during a protest at Jantar Mantar and subsequent demands for action against him. Police have since taken steps in the matter, while the investigation continues.
