CIA Staff Jalandhar Arrests Two, Recovers Illegal Weapons in Targeted Operation

Jalandhar: In a significant breakthrough, the CIA Staff of Commissionerate Police Jalandhar arrested two individuals and recovered illegal firearms during a special operation conducted near DAV College.

Two Accused Arrested with Weapons

According to the official press note issued by the Commissioner of Police office, the CIA Staff team apprehended two suspects during a naka (checkpoint) operation. During the search, police recovered two .32 bore pistols along with two live cartridges from their possession.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act at Police Station Division No. 1, Jalandhar.

Operation Based on Intelligence Inputs

Police officials stated that the operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs regarding suspicious movement in the area. Acting swiftly, the CIA team set up a checkpoint near DAV College and intercepted the suspects.

Upon checking, the accused failed to produce valid documents for the weapons, leading to their immediate arrest.

Accused Have Criminal Background

Preliminary investigation revealed that both accused have prior criminal records. One of them is already involved in multiple cases under the Arms Act and various sections of the IPC, while the other also has a history of criminal involvement.

Police records indicate that several FIRs have been registered against them in the past, including cases related to illegal arms possession and violent offences.

Further Investigation Underway

Police officials said that further investigation is being carried out to ascertain the source of the weapons and whether the accused were planning any criminal activity.

Efforts are also being made to identify and apprehend other individuals who may be linked to the case.

The Commissionerate Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and taking strict action against anti-social elements in the city.
