CIK Raids in Srinagar, Shopian, and Ganderbal; Documents and Equipment Seized

In Jammu and Kashmir, Counter Intelligence Kashmir has conducted simultaneous raids across several districts as part of an operation against terrorism in the Valley. According to reports, operations are currently underway in Srinagar, Shopian, and Ganderbal.

This action follows the dismantling of an international terror module. The module was being operated by Shabir Ahmed Lone, a resident of Kashmir who is currently based in Bangladesh and remains active from there. A native of Kangan in Ganderbal, Shabir Ahmed Lone works for the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba from Bangladesh and runs the network under its directives.

The module was receiving instructions from handlers based in Bangladesh and Pakistan. Through this channel, conspiracies were being hatched to recruit local youth, arrange funding, and execute terrorist activities. During the raids, several suspicious documents, electronic devices, and other materials were seized and are currently being examined.

Meanwhile, a major crackdown has also been launched against a drug peddler in the Bandipora district. The administration has confiscated his illegally acquired assets. Officials state that the nexus between terrorism and drug networks is also being investigated.

Officials from Counter Intelligence Kashmir stated that this operation is being conducted with the objective of dismantling the active terror infrastructure within the Valley and exposing their international linkages.
