Justice Suryakant is visiting his home state of Haryana for the third time since taking oath as the 53rd Chief Justice of India on November 24, 2025. A felicitation ceremony will be organised in his honour by the Rohtak Bar Association on February 14.

Emotional Connection with Rohtak
Justice Suryakant shares a deep emotional bond with Rohtak. He completed his LLB in 1984 from the Law Department of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU).
Bar Association President Deepak Hooda said that when he invited the CJI after his swearing-in ceremony, Justice Suryakant fondly recalled his college days and his association with Rohtak, describing it as a significant workplace in his early career.
The Rohtak Bar Association, which is 137 years old, is preparing extensively for the event.
From MDU Graduate to Youngest Advocate General
After completing his law degree from MDU, Justice Suryakant initially practised in his home district of Hisar before moving to Chandigarh to appear in cases at the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
In 2000, he became Haryana’s youngest Advocate General, marking a major milestone in his legal career.
Previous Visits to Haryana
Since assuming office as CJI, Justice Suryakant has already visited Hisar, Hansi and his native village Petwad in January. The Haryana government hosted a state dinner in Hisar in his honour.
He also attended a programme at O.P. Jindal Global University in Sonipat during another visit.
