Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Monday announced that its core team will hold a two-day strategy meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from August 5 to discuss the future course of action for the youth movement.
The meeting will bring together CJP founder, spokespersons and organisational leaders to deliberate on the next steps after consultations with volunteers and stakeholders across the country.
CJP plans nationwide listening tour
Over the past few days, CJP members have held discussions with a wide range of people, including a team of 50 core volunteers who participated in the Jantar Mantar protest.
Following the strategy meeting, the organisation plans to connect with volunteers across India and conduct a nationwide listening tour to understand the concerns and expectations of young people.
CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said the movement showed that young people can bring change when they come together.
“The defeat of this arrogant government at the hands of the youth shows that when young people come together, they can achieve anything,” Das said.
Founder says CJP will not become political party
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke clarified that the organisation has no plans to transform into a political party.
“We have no such intention. We are seeing how political parties are being split using the ED and CBI. Votes are being deleted in elections. At this point, when people have lost faith in politics, what will we do by forming a political party?” Dipke told ANI.
He said the country needs a public movement at a time when people are losing faith in institutions, including politics, the judiciary, election system and media.
Dipke alleges outsiders disrupted Jantar Mantar protest
Dipke also alleged that outsiders had infiltrated the student protests at Jantar Mantar and were responsible for violence during the July 20 march to Parliament.
He claimed that certain elements were sent to create disturbances and defame the movement.
The CJP founder also criticised the Delhi Police over the handling of the protest, alleging that criminal elements were present at the protest site while police action was taken against protesters.
The organisation is expected to announce further details about its future plans, including the schedule of the nationwide listening tour, in the coming days.
