CM Bhagwant Mann announces ‘Meri Rasoi’ scheme, beneficiaries to get ‘Food Kit’

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made a significant announcement today related to the public distribution system. CM Bhagwant Mann announced schemen named Meri Rasoi under which blue card holders will get a special food kit along with wheat. This scheme will benefit approximately 4 million families.

Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister explained that the government is improving schemes to address public needs. This decision has been made in light of these needs.

Food kits to be given 

Until now, beneficiaries were provided with wheat, but under the new system, other essential food items will also be provided alongside wheat. The government-prepared food kits will include 2 kg of chickpea lentils, 2 kg of sugar, 1 kg of iodized salt, 200 grams of turmeric powder, and 1 liter of mustard oil.

The government will provide three months’ long supplies
This facility will be available to families with blue cards. The government said this step will ensure that needy families have access to essential kitchen items at one time, providing additional relief. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that the government will provide three months’ worth of supplies in advance to avoid inconvenience to residents.

He asserted that quality of the items will be important. Markfed will prepare the kits for distribution, and they will undergo thorough quality checks.
