Amritsar, Sep 4: The situation in Punjab is still serious due to floods. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s health has also deteriorated; today he was going to take stock of the flood-affected areas with AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal has also now reached to meet CM Mann.

At the same time, the water of the Ravi and Sutlej has risen in many villages of Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Ferozepur. 140 villages of Amritsar are in the grip of flood. In view of this, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the state government. Also, a report has been summoned in 3 weeks. The Chief Justice has said – “We have not seen such rain and flood before.”

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has reached Punjab to know the situation in the state. Governor Gulab Chand Kataria met him at Amritsar airport. The governor also submitted a report on the 5 flood-affected districts.

The water of the Sutlej has reached the Pakistani village and police post across the border near Palla Megha village of Ferozepur. There is also a danger of embankment breaking here.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in Mansa, Sangrur and Barnala districts. There is a possibility of light rain in the surrounding areas as well, which may increase the difficulty in relief work.

However, now that the rain has stopped, the water level in many flood-affected areas has started to decrease. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal are coming today to take stock of the situation in Punjab.

This year, Ravi caused the most damage in the state. Flood water has receded from many villages and the damage is becoming apparent. Sand has accumulated in people’s houses. The crops in the fields are in the grip of sand. The condition of the houses is very pathetic. Cracks have appeared on the walls. Many roofs have collapsed. The kutcha houses are no longer fit for living. Since last night, the water level of Ravi has started rising again in the Ramdas area of ​​Amritsar.
