CM Mann to Hold ‘Shukrana Yatra’ in Jalandhar Today, Security Tightened Across City

Jalandhar: Preparations have been completed in Jalandhar for CM Bhagwant Mann’s ‘Shukrana Yatra’ (Gratitude March). CM Bhagwant Mann is scheduled to arrive in Jalandhar at 8:00 AM to participate in the Shukrana Yatra. In this regard, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) inspected the designated route. AAP leader Nitin Kohli, Deputy Commissioner Varjit Walia, and CP Dhanpreet Kaur personally oversaw the preparations.

Accompanied by police personnel, all officials visited the vicinity of the CM’s residence to review security arrangements and other logistical measures. Nitin Kohli stated that the AAP is the first government to introduce a law against sacrilege in Punjab. The Chief Minister is visiting Jalandhar to undertake this march as an expression of gratitude for the enactment of this law.

Nitin Kohli further remarked that his government is formulating policies for the common people, and the positive results of these initiatives will be evident in the upcoming assembly elections. For years, the people of Punjab had been demanding a law against sacrilege a demand that the AAP government in Punjab has now successfully fulfilled. He informed that CM Mann would address the public and highlight the various achievements and initiatives undertaken by the AAP government.

Rural Police on High Alert Regarding Security Preparations

Before the CM’s visit, the Jalandhar Rural Police has shifted into high-alert mode. A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jalandhar Rural, Harwinder Singh Virk, to review security arrangements and finalize preparations for the upcoming march. The meeting was attended by Vineet Ahlawat, SP Mukesh Kumar, SP PBI Manjit Kaur, along with all Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Station House Officers (SHOs), and *Chowki* In-charges from across the district.

The primary objective of the meeting was to reinforce law and order during the march and to prevent any untoward incidents. Addressing the officials, SSP Virk issued directives to ensure the round-the-clock deployment of police personnel along the entire route of the march.
