Important meeting in Delhi regarding Himachal issues; CM Sukhu along with cabinet to attend

An important meeting with the Congress high command is scheduled for today in Delhi regarding various issues in Himachal Pradesh. This meeting, to be held with Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, is expected to discuss issues such as the discontinuation of the Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG), Rajya Sabha election candidates, and cabinet expansion.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, cabinet ministers, and the state Congress president arrived in Delhi last evening for this meeting. A crucial meeting of state Congress leaders will be held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge. State Affairs In-charge Rajni Patil, co-in-charge Chetan Chauhan, and Vidit Chaudhary will also be present.

It is reported that the 16th Finance Commission has recommended the discontinuation of the RDG, which could deepen the economic crisis in Himachal. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has vowed to fight for the reinstatement of the RDG at every level. This issue will first be raised with the central government. If the RDG is not reinstated despite this, the state government may also pursue a legal battle.

CM Sukhu has repeatedly stated that the RDG is a right granted under Article 275 of the Constitution. Therefore, this issue could be raised in the Lok Sabha after discussions with Rahul Gandhi.
