Cockroach Janata Party to Hold Protest in Amritsar Today, Demand Education Minister’s Resignation

Amritsar: The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) will hold a protest in Amritsar on Friday as part of its nationwide campaign. Party founder Abhijeet Dipke is expected to participate in the demonstration and has appealed to young people to join the gathering at the Golden Gate in Amritsar.

In a video posted on social media platform X, Dipke said he would arrive in the city at around 4 pm. He stated that the protest would be conducted peacefully in support of NEET and CBSE students and would demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

“If everyone raises their voice together, justice can be secured for NEET and CBSE students,” Dipke said in the video message.

How the Cockroach Janata Party Was Formed

The Cockroach Janata Party emerged after remarks made during a court hearing in May triggered widespread discussion online. According to party supporters, the controversy began after comments attributed to Chief Justice Surya Kant regarding unemployed youth and activists generated strong reactions on social media.

Amid the debate, Abhijeet Dipke posted a satirical message on X asking what would happen if all the “cockroaches” in the country united. The post gained significant traction among young users, leading to the online launch of the Cockroach Janata Party on May 16.

The party adopted a humorous and symbolic approach, with membership requirements jokingly described as being unemployed, lazy and constantly online. The campaign quickly went viral on social media and attracted widespread attention among young people.

Nationwide Protest Campaign Underway

The Amritsar event is part of a nationwide protest campaign announced by Dipke from June 11. The campaign began in Pune, followed by a protest in Lucknow on June 12.

According to the party, demonstrations are also planned in Jaipur, Bengaluru and several other cities before concluding with a gathering at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on June 20.

The party had earlier organised its first protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6, where a large number of supporters participated in a five-hour demonstration.

Dipke Denies Meeting PM Modi

Ahead of the Pune protest, Dipke addressed media reports linking him to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Responding to claims made by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, Dipke said a viral photograph showing him with the Prime Minister was generated using artificial intelligence.

“How can I meet the Prime Minister? I was just a student in America. Everyone knows how strict the process is to meet the Prime Minister,” he said.

His statement came after Raut alleged that Dipke had met Modi in the United States before returning to India. However, no photograph was publicly shared to support the claim.
