‘Cockroach Janata Party’s X Account Blocked in India

New Delhi: The X account of the satirical platform “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP) has been blocked in India. Its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, announced this on his personal X account on Thursday. He shared a screenshot showing the account being blocked in response to a “legal demand.”

X Takes Action Following Legal Demand

Abhijeet Dipke wrote in the post, “As expected, the Cockroach Janata Party’s account has been blocked in India.” X stated that the action was taken after receiving a legal request.

Instagram Account Still Active

Although CJP’s account on X has been blocked, its Instagram profile remained active at the time of writing. The platform has over 13.4 million followers on Instagram.

Platform Rapidly Viral on Social Media

Launched less than a week ago, the platform has quickly become popular on social media. It describes itself as a “political platform of the youth, for the youth, and by the youth” and claims to be the “voice of the lazy and unemployed.” According to the website, it is a satirical project created by Abhijeet Dipke, who describes himself as its “founder president.”

Website claims over 600,000 registrations

The website also provides a form for people to “join the party.” The platform claims that over 600,000 people have registered so far. Its manifesto includes proposals such as a ban on Rajya Sabha seats for retired Chief Justices, 50 percent reservation for women in Parliament, and a 20-year ban on party-hoppers.
