Cold intensifies in Punjab and Chandigarh: Fog prevails; Faridkot coldest at 4°C

Cold weather has intensified in Punjab and Chandigarh. Light fog is also observed in many areas in the morning and evening. Dry winds are blowing in the region. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in the state has dropped by 0.5 degrees in the last 24 hours, now reaching close to normal.

Minimum temperatures have dropped in all districts. Faridkot was the coldest district, with a minimum temperature of 4 degrees.

There will be no change in night temperatures for three days.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of any rain in the next seven days. The weather will remain dry. Light fog may occur in some areas. However, night temperatures will remain almost the same.

There will be no major change in this. Meanwhile, the weather on the Delhi-Ambala Highway and the Ambala-Amritsar Highway will remain completely clear for the next two days. Traffic is unlikely to be affected.

Air polluted in all cities of Punjab
The air in Punjab is currently very polluted. Except Rupnagar, the AQI of all the cities is running above 100. The air of Mandi Gobindgarh is the most polluted. Amritsar’s AQI was recorded at 196 at 6 am, while Bathinda’s AQI reached 159, Jalandhar’s AQI 133, and Khanna’s AQI reached 142.

Similarly, Ludhiana’s AQI was 122, Mandi Gobindgarh’s AQI 213, Patiala’s AQI 135 and Rupnagar’s AQI 62. Whereas, Sector-22 and Sector-55 of Chandigarh’s AQI were recorded at 155, and Sector-53’s AQI was 153. In such a situation, people will have to take care of themselves.
