Colonel Bath Assault Case: CBI files chargesheet in Mohali court

Chandigarh: Big news has come out in the Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath assault case. The CBI has filed a chargesheet in the Mohali court.

Let us tell you that two FIRs were registered by the CBI in the case – one by Colonel Bath and the other by the dhaba owner – under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of attempt to murder.

On July 16, the High Court had handed over the case to the CBI

The case was initially investigated by the Punjab Police, and later, a Special Investigation Team was assigned the task of completing the investigation within four months. However, due to dissatisfaction with the slow progress of the Chandigarh Police SIT and alleged bias, the High Court transferred the case to the CBI on July 16.

    What was the whole matter?

Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son Angad were allegedly attacked by 12 police personnel during a parking dispute near a roadside eatery near Rajindra Hospital in Patiala. The colonel’s arm was broken, while his son suffered a serious head injury.

The FIR in this case was registered on March 22 itself, although another FIR dated March 15 had already been registered on the behest of a dhaba owner, who was allegedly in favour of the police personnel involved.
