Commercial LPG Price Hike: 19-kg cylinder price hiked by ₹10, now costs ₹2,820 in Delhi

New Delhi: Commercial LPG cylinder prices have been hiked once again with the start of November. The price of a 19-kg commercial gas cylinder has increased by ₹10 to ₹2,820 from Sunday. Previously, on October 1st, its price was ₹2,810. This represents a ₹10 increase in cylinder prices over the past month.

This is the third consecutive month of increase in commercial gas prices. This could directly impact hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and other commercial establishments. Notably, this increase in gas prices comes amid the busy festive season, which could increase costs for businesses.

According to the revised rate list, the price of a 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder for a new connection is ₹1,903, while the price of a 5-kg refill is ₹782.

Fluctuating LPG Prices in 2026

Commercial LPG prices have fluctuated significantly during 2026. This has been largely due to international geopolitical tensions and changes in the global energy market.

On May 1st, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder saw a massive increase of nearly ₹1,000 within a month. Subsequently, the price of a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi rose to approximately ₹3,071.50.

However, in July and August, oil companies reduced prices by a total of ₹380 per cylinder, providing some relief to commercial consumers. However, the festive season has seen a resurgence of price increases.

Following a minor increase on September 1, prices were increased by ₹65 per cylinder on October 1. On November 1, prices were hiked by ₹10 to ₹17 in different metropolises. Consequently, the price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi has reached ₹2,820.

Impact of tensions in the Strait of Hormuz on LPG prices

The rising cost of gas and fuel imports in 2026 is attributed to the increasing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and disruptions in maritime transport. This sea route is crucial for the supply of crude oil and LPG from the Middle East.

India imports nearly half of its natural gas and LPG consumption. A large consignment of LPG comes from Gulf countries and is transported through the Strait of Hormuz.

Earlier this year, operational disruptions and security risks on this sea route impacted global LPG supplies, increasing freight costs.

Additionally, fluctuations in international crude oil prices, with Brent crude remaining above $110 per barrel and higher Saudi Aramco contract prices, have also impacted domestic commercial fuel prices.

Due to these circumstances, commercial gas prices in India remain elevated despite minimal monthly changes.
