True Essence of Compassion and Peace Resides in Ladakh, says Amit Shah as Buddha Relics arrive in Ladakh

Speaking at an exhibition of holy relics and a cultural program organized in Leh on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that Ladakh is not merely a geographical region, but a living laboratory of Buddhist culture and compassion.

India’s civilization has conveyed the message of peace for thousands of years, and the knowledge and traditions of this region have been preserved for centuries.

During the event, while referencing the teachings of the Dalai Lama, Amit Shah remarked that Ladakh stands as a symbol of spirituality and compassion. He noted that this year’s Buddha Purnima holds special significance, as the holy relics of Lord Gautama Buddha have returned to Ladakh after nearly 75 years.

He observed that, in the past, due to a lack of road and transport facilities in these rugged mountainous terrains, very few people were able to pay homage to these relics; however, thanks to improved connectivity, a greater number of people will now be able to draw spiritual inspiration from them.

He expressed confidence that the people of Ladakh, Kargil, and other regions would experience a sense of divinity and spiritual energy through these holy relics.
