Concern for farmers: Expectation of rain and hail in many districts of Punjab today, IMD issues orange alert

Chandigarh : Looking at the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the concern of the farmers has increased because the wheat crop is ready to ripe in many districts of Punjab.

Crops are on the verge of maturity in some districts. Due to this reason, farmers are afraid that if there is storm and hail then there may be heavy damage to the ripe wheat crop in the fields.

In many districts of Punjab, including Amritsar, Patiala and Hoshiarpur, there was intermittent drizzle and light rain during the day on Saturday, which provided relief from the heat. According to Weather Center Chandigarh, 5.5 mm of rain was recorded in Amritsar and 0.3 mm in Ludhiana. Due to the rain, the day temperature dropped by two to three degrees Celsius in many districts compared to Friday.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Amritsar was 31 degrees, Ludhiana and Ferozepur 32 degrees, Moga 32.9 degrees, Bathinda 34 degrees, Jalandhar 31.3 degrees, Bathinda 34 degrees and Chandigarh 36.6 degrees. was registered

On the other hand, according to the Meteorological Department, strong winds can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour in many districts of Punjab on Sunday. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of light rain in many districts and normal to moderate rain in some districts. Hail may also occur in some districts.
