Contaminated water wreaks havoc in Indore: Death toll rises to 7

Indore :  A major water crisis has emerged in Indore, known as the country’s cleanest city. Seven people have died so far due to drinking contaminated drinking water, while more than 100 are hospitalized. This tragedy occurred in the Bhagirathpura area of ​​the city, where residents were continuously supplied with sewage-mixed water.

The illness began with vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and infection, but the situation quickly spiraled out of control, resulting in the loss of many lives.

Despite months of complaints, no action taken, pipeline replacement pending

According to local residents, the water had been foul-smelling and dirty for several months. Complaints were made repeatedly, but no official took timely action.

Investigations revealed that:

* There was a major leak in the main pipeline
* ​​A tender for pipeline replacement had been issued six months ago
* Funds had also been released
* Yet work had not yet begun

This means that negligence, laxity, and a lack of oversight by the government and the corporation led to this tragedy.

Government reprimanded, officials suspended – but responsibility remains undetermined

The Indore Mayor has acknowledged the pipeline failure, raising further questions about the administration.
