Contract killer shot during Police Encounter in Khanna

Khanna police on Monday night injured a miscreant in a shootout between police and miscreant in the jungle of village Khanpur situated in Bet area of Machhiwara Sahib. The injured miscreant has been identified as contract killer shooter Salim, who was arrested by the police and admitted to the hospital for treatment. Salim was brought to the spot for recovery of weapons.

According to SP (D) Pawanjit, a few days ago Jaspreet Singh, a resident of village Chak Lohat, was shot and seriously injured. In this case, the police had already arrested some accused, including Salim, a resident of Roorkee.

Tried to escape

During the incident, Salim took out the revolver and cartridges hidden in the ground. After this, he snatched the service revolver of police station in-charge Harvinder Singh and tried to escape. The police took immediate action and shot him in the leg.

The injured Salim was caught on the spot. He has been admitted to the hospital in Samrala for treatment. The police have also recovered the revolver and magazine used to attack Jaspreet Singh.

The attack was carried out by giving a contract from abroad

Initial investigation has revealed that this attack was carried out by giving contract from abroad through sharp shooters. Jaspreet Singh is currently admitted in the hospital and his condition is said to be stable.

According to police officials, the entire matter is being investigated in depth. The reason for giving contract and the people involved behind it will be revealed soon. Many serious criminal cases are already registered against Salim and other sharp shooters. The police is active to expose the entire network of this gang.
