Couple Consumes Poison After Family Dispute in Sirsa; Husband Dies, Wife Critical

Sirsa: A couple consumed poison after a family dispute in the Dabwali area of ​​Sirsa district on Wednesday evening. Subhash Chandra, 35, died on the spot, while his wife, Sunita, alias Mamta, was referred to Hanumangarh in critical condition.

According to reports, the incident occurred at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night. The couple’s five children were home at the time. When Subhash and Sunita’s condition began to deteriorate after consuming the poison, their 12-year-old son panicked and ran to his neighbour, Rohtas, about 5-6 miles away. He alerted the neighbours, who immediately arrived at the scene and informed Dial 112 and the farm owner.

The woman’s condition is serious, and she has been referred to Hanumangarh.

Neighbours found that Subhash’s heartbeat had stopped, but Sunita was still breathing. Without delay, they drove Sunita to Sangaria Hospital in Rajasthan, where she was referred to Hanumangarh due to her critical condition.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Sadar Police Station in-charge Shailendra Kumar, Chautala outpost in-charge Satpal, and the 112 team arrived at the scene. Police have placed Subhash’s body in the mortuary of the government hospital in Dabwali.

Two small children were also beaten up.

According to reports, before consuming poison, Subhash also beat his two young children, causing minor injuries. Police took both children under their protection and provided them with first aid at a hospital. Subhash is survived by four sons and a daughter, the eldest of whom is only 12 years old.

Station House Officer of Sadar Dabwali Police Station, Shailendra Kumar, said that the police team arrived at the scene as soon as they received the information. The husband has died, while the woman is undergoing treatment. The injured children have also been treated. Further legal action will be taken based on the statements of the family members.
