Crackdown on Crime in Punjab

The Punjab Assembly elections will be held next year in 2027. The current government is taking a firm stand against gangsterism, extortion, and drug trafficking in the state. The police system has been completely strengthened.

Raids are being conducted. Criminals are being apprehended. Illegal weapons and drugs are being seized on a large scale. The second phase of “Operation Prahar” is currently underway in the state. In this, the police have arrested major smugglers and imprisoned more than 500 of the 1,506 listed gangsters. To prevent drug smuggling from across the border, countermeasures have been strengthened to destroy intruding drones.

Furthermore, efforts are underway to break the backbone of crime, regardless of whether they are large or small. Currently, rallies are being held by both the government and opposition parties in Malwa and border areas. The government has repeatedly declared that this hooliganism, smuggling, and daylight robbery will not be tolerated. Opposition rallies claim that the government has failed to curb these crimes, but the government rejects these allegations. Manish Sisodia, the Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab in-charge, stated that they have arrested 17,000 drug smugglers. Imagine how many lives of the young generation would have been ruined if this had not been done. To prevent incidents of snatching and robbery in cities and towns, a network of CCTV cameras has been installed across the state, and police have been instructed to take immediate action. Police vigilance has already been increased to apprehend criminals.

The government has clearly stated that hooliganism will not be tolerated in the state. We believe that to maintain law and order, the public must be vigilant so that if they suspect criminal activity, they can report it to the government-promoted mobile phone numbers, and such individuals can be immediately brought to justice through law and punishment. It’s true that such incidents occurred in the past, and now, with the spread of indiscipline, they have increased, but the government’s efforts to curb them have also increased. If, in addition to rooting out corruption, the administration takes steps with the common citizen, law and order will appear more meaningful.
