Crime Branch arrests absconding accused wanted in acid attack-cum-murder of his wife

New Delhi: A team of Crime Branch/NDR, R K Puram led by Insps. Yogesh & Vinod Yadav along with the other staff under the supervision of Sh. Umesh Barthwal, ACP NDR, has arrested one absconding and rewarded accused Jitendra @ Jitu wanted in a case of acid attack cum murder of his wife. He was arrested from Kohlapur, Maharashtra. A cash reward of ₹ 25,000/- was declared on his arrest by Delhi Police.

Briefly stated facts of the case are that on 29.04.2024 accused Jitendra @ Jitu r/o Jahangirpuri. Singh threw acid on his wife to kill her as he had doubt that his wife had an extra marital affair and ran away from the spot.

After incident, he left Delhi and used to change his location in different states so that he couldn’t be traced. Even he didn’t carry any mobile phone as he knew that he could be tracked. He changed his looks and had grown his beard so that he couldn’t be identified. He spent his absconding period at various religious places by working as a serviceman. He continuously kept changing his hideouts. A cash reward of ₹ 25,000/- was declared on his arrest by Delhi Police.

On 02.04.2024, a team comprising Insp. Vinod Yadav, SIs Dipender Singh and Imran Khan and HC Ashish departed to Nashik, Maharashtra on the basis of secret information.

The team first went to Vani Village, Nashik, where after enquiry from many local residents, the team reached at the hideout of accused near Saptashrungi Temple but before team reached there, the accused escaped from there.

Accused was traced on the night of 04.04.2024 at Baru Mama Mandir. He was apprehended at Baru Mama Mandir, Distt Kolhapur,Maharashtra by the team
