3 international arms smugglers arrested in Amritsar, 8 foreign pistols recovered

Acting on intelligence input, Amritsar Rural Police has busted an international criminal network. In this action, the police recovered 8 sophisticated foreign pistols during a blockade. This operation was carried out on the link road between village Barar and Kohala. According to the information released by DGP Gaurav Yadav, the police team stopped 3 persons.

According to the information released by DGP Gaurav Yadav, the police team stopped 3 persons who were staring at a car in a suspicious condition. When they were questioned, the police got suspicious.

After which the police started questioning them strictly. The suspicion deepened and they were immediately taken into custody. During interrogation, it has come to light that a main suspect named Doug, who is a resident of Manawala, was also in contact with the arrested accused.

The accused is in contact with Pakistani smugglers

Preliminary investigation has also revealed that these accused were in active contact with arms smugglers based in Pakistan, technically and scientifically. Their aim was to smuggle arms into the Indian border and for this they were hatching a conspiracy at many levels.

Police filed FIR

The police have registered an FIR in this case under the relevant sections and the investigation has been intensified to search for other people associated with the network. At present, information about the backward and front linkages of the accused is being obtained.
