Chandigarh: In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled an interstate illegal weapons smuggling module linked to USA-based Dilpreet Singh, apprehending seven operatives and seizing 12 pistols, 16 magazines, and 23 live cartridges.

Preliminary investigations reveal the module was providing logistical support to various gangs by procuring weapons from Madhya Pradesh. An FIR has been registered at PS Islamabad, and a thorough investigation is on-going to identify others involved in the network. Punjab Police is committed to taking strict action against organized crime and illegal weapons trafficking, working to uncover all forward and backward linkages within the network.

After arresting these seven gang members, Amritsar Police has started studying their network in detail. Police is trying to find out who else is involved in this module and to which gangs these people were supplying weapons. Police said that some other members and contacts of this gang are also being searched who can cooperate in smuggling.

An FIR has been registered in this case at Police Station Islamabad. Police said that this is part of a comprehensive and precise plan, under which efforts are being made to trace the entire network. The Punjab Police team is engaged in finding out all the possible links of this network and the mastermind behind it.
