The Amritsar Commissionerate Police have foiled an alleged cross-border terror conspiracy with the arrest of one accused and the recovery of a hand grenade, a 9mm Glock pistol and four live cartridges, officials said on Tuesday.

Those arrested have been identified as Chintu, Jobanpreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, all residents of village Kakkar in Amritsar.

The network also used hawala channels for financial transactions across various locations.

He stated that the preliminary investigation revealed the arrested accused were in contact with operatives based abroad who are involved in the supply of illegal weapons.

One of the accused is an Afghan national.
