Cross Border Smuggling Module Busted by Amritsar Police, 2 held with 4.1 Kg heroin

In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Commissionerate Police dismantled a cross-border drug & arms smuggling module. The Amritsar Police arrested 2 accused and recovers 4.108 kg heroin along with 4 sophisticated pistols and 5 live cartridges.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested accused were in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers through social media platforms and were receiving consignments of drugs and arms for further distribution in Punjab.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act and Arms Act at PS Cantonment, Amritsar.

Further investigation is underway to establish forward and backward linkages of this network and to identify other associates involved.
