Jalandhar Commissionerate Police arrest a person accused of demanding ransom from industrialist, posing as gangster Landa Harike.

Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said that during investigation, the police came to know about the role of Amanjot Singh son of Makhan Singh and Makhan Singh son of Mohan Singh, both residents of Kaidowal Mahilpur Hoshiarpur were behind the call.

Jalandhar Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have arrested a person who had demanded ransom from an industrialist by posing as gangster Landa Harike. The accused had demanded extortion of Rs 2 crore from the Jalandhar city industrialist.

ADCP briefed about the case

Speaking about the case ADCP 2 Jalandhar Aditya informed that a person has been arrested who, was posing as gangster Landa Harike. The accused called a city businessman and demanded ransom. City industrialist Balkar Singh, son of Surinder Singh had lodged a complaint with the police that he received an extortion call On February 4. He said that the caller identified himself as dangerous gangster Landa Harike and demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore.

ADCP Aditya Told About Accused

ADCP Aditya said that the police have registered an FIR against both the accused in Police Station Jalandhar Sadar. He said that Makhan Singh has been arrested, while Amanjot is still absconding. Efforts are being conducted to arrest him. Mr. Swapan Sharma said that the matter is being further investigated and the rest of the details will be shared later.
