When the situation escalated, the officer in charge wanted to bring the father and son to the police station to question them. However, the son, who was accused, ran away from the police station. Later, he returned with some people who caused a commotion outside the station, leading to a large number of vehicles getting stuck in a traffic jam.

“Jaswinder Singh, the officer in charge, reported that on Friday, in the New Hargobind Nagar area, unidentified individuals on a motorcycle snatched a vehicle from a person riding an Activa. Following the incident, the authorities recovered the motorcycle used by the perpetrators, but the snatchers were not apprehended.”

Jaswinder stated that a checkpoint had been established to apprehend snatchers. Sarabjit Singh and his son Harsidak were approaching at a high speed on an Activa. When officials attempted to flag down the Activa and inquire, the pair identified themselves as journalists. Jaswinder reported that the father-son duo behaved inappropriately towards them.

The post in-charge said that Harsidak fled from there without cooperating in the questioning and brought hundreds of people. They attacked the post. Someone in the crowd hit him on the forehead with a sharp object, due to which his forehead broke.

Constable Lucky Sharma’s uniform was torn. The door of the police post was broken. The attackers even broke the flower pots lying outside the post. They are going registering a case against both father and son. The matter has been brought to the notice of senior police officers.

“On the other hand, the accused Harsidak stated that he was heading home with his father, Sarabjit Singh, after closing their shop. Police officials stopped them on the road and instructed them to drive the Activa slowly. Harsidak mentioned that his Activa was already moving very slowly. Three intoxicated police officials stopped them.”

Harsidak has said that he has a video in which the police officials themselves are admitting that they were drunk. Harsidak said that the police officials slapped his father Sarabjit Singh. Those people also removed my turban. Police beat him with sticks and pushed him and his father into the police station. His mobile was also broken in the police clash.
