Sindhi Bakers’ owner’s son shot at by two assailants in second attempt made after 30 minutes

It has been learnt that it was after 30 minutes of a failed attempt that the assailants.

It has been learnt that it was after 30 minutes of a failed attempt that the assailants turned up again and opened fire within the bakery.

An employee at the Bakery, Sonu, who suffered an injury after a bullet splinter hit him, said that two persons turned up on a scooter, they first bought bottles of soft drink and then suddenly flashed a gun and attempted to fire but they failed and fled from the spot.

After around half an hour, the accused again turned up and fired one shot targeting the owner’s son Naveen Kumar within the bakery in which Kumar suffered gunshot wound to his neck and then the assailants fired another shot in air outside the bakery while escaping.

After the incident Kumar was rushed to a nearby hospital and then the police were alerted.

Immediately after receiving the alert, the police reached the spot and initiated investigation into the matter.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigation) Amandeep Singh Brar said that no one informed the police when the accused had made a failed attempt. It has been learnt that victim Naveen was waiting for his father to reach the bakery before approaching the police. However, if they would have informed police earlier, this incident would have been averted.

However, the police have registered an FIR against unidentified assailants and the teams are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras to trace the accused.

According to the police, the reason behind the incident is yet unclear as there was no attempt of robbery. The condition of the victim is stated to be stable.
