Three snatchers arrested, gold earrings, mobile phones and sharp edged weapon recovered

Ludhiana: The team of crime investigation agency (CIA-2) arrested three snatchers and recovered two gold earrings, six mobile phones, a sharp edged weapon and a motorcycle from their possession. The accused have been identified as Rahul Kumar of village Chandapur of Gonda district of UP (presently residing in Ambedkar Nagar at Lohara Road), Shalender Kumar.

The team of crime investigation agency (CIA-2) arrested three snatchers and recovered two gold earrings, six mobile phones, a sharp edged weapon and a motorcycle from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Rahul Kumar of village Chandapur of Gonda district of UP (presently residing in Ambedkar Nagar at Lohara Road), Shalender Kumar Yadav alias Golu of Mahendra Nagar at Lohara Road and Karan Kumar of Laxman Colony of Giaspura.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP – Investigation) Amandeep Singh Brar said that the team of CIA-2 lead by Inspector Bikramjit Singh, in-charge, Crime Branch-2 arrested the accused at the checkpoint installed at Malhi Chowk at Jaspal Bangar Road. After police recovered stolen jewelries, mobile phones from their possession, a case under section 304 of BNS was registered against them.

ADCP said that the accused are involved in targeting women and snatching their valuables. The accused had targeted a woman at Jaspal Bangar road and had snatched her gold earrings following which an FIR was registered under sections 303(2) and 304 BNS at Sahnewal police station.

ADCP said that the police will question the accused and will ascertain more details regarding more snatchings executed by them.
