CRPF Hoists 61-Foot National Flag at 84th Battalion Headquarters in J-K’s Ramban

Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Friday installed and hoisted a 61-foot-high National Flag at the Tactical Headquarters of its 84th Battalion in Chanderkote, Ramban, along the banks of the Chenab River.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was held in the presence of CRPF personnel and senior officials, highlighting the force’s commitment to national service and patriotism.

‘Tiranga Represents Honour, Pride and Sacrifice’: Commandant

Speaking on the occasion, Commandant N Ranbir Singh said the Tricolour is a symbol of the nation’s honour, pride and the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters.

“We have hoisted the Indian National Flag, the Tiranga, atop a 61-foot-high mast on the banks of the Chenab River at the CRPF headquarters in Ramban. This Tiranga represents our honour, pride and glory. It embodies the dreams and aspirations of millions of citizens. It was earned through immense struggle and sacrifice, and it holds profound significance for every Indian, especially for those serving in the armed forces,” he said.

CRPF Supporting Security and Healthcare During Amarnath Yatra

The flag installation comes as the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 continues under heightened security across Jammu and Kashmir.

The CRPF has deployed Road Opening Party (ROP) teams along National Highway-44 to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims travelling to the holy cave shrine.

In addition to security duties, the 84th Battalion has also established a Mobile Health Camp at Chanderkote to provide round-the-clock medical assistance to pilgrims and local residents.

Operating under the supervision of Commandant N Ranbir Singh, the medical facility is led by Senior Medical Officer Dr. Anantha Krishnan and supported by paramedical staff.

The camp is equipped with an Advanced Life Support ambulance and essential life-saving medicines to provide emergency healthcare services, reflecting the CRPF’s commitment to ensuring both the safety and well-being of devotees during the annual pilgrimage.
