CRPF personnel commits suicide in South Kashmir, probe on

Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel died by suicide in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on February 24, 2026.

As per information, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning in the SICOP area of Bijbehara.

Deceased personnel of 96 Battalion

The deceased has been identified as Constable (Driver) Ajit Singh, who was serving with D Company of 96 Battalion CRPF.

Police have registered the case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
