Jalandhar: The Jalandhar Municipal Corporation took action against illegal construction this morning. The building branch of the municipal corporation paid a visit to an illegal colony in Alipur and Jalandhar Enclave and took action against the illegal buildings.
Machines were used to demolish the houses that were illegally built in the colony, and some houses were also sealed. The team that arrived to take action included ATP Sukhdev Vishisht, Inspector Varinder Kaur, Narinder Midda, Arvind, Raju Mahi, and Honey Thapar. They stated that they had taken action against two places where illegal construction was taking place, and the houses that were demolished were illegally built in the colony.
The owners of those houses were issued notices to stop the construction work. Despite the notices, the illegal construction work was still continuing. Therefore, the municipal commissioner issued demolition orders, and the municipal corporation’s team not only demolished the houses in the illegal colony but also destroyed the sewage and water supply systems and the roads that were illegally built without the corporation’s approval. The team also collected CLU fees for the area.
