Jalandhar: Jalandhar Municipal Corporation has once again come into action mode against illegal construction. The corporation officials had recently issued notices to the people who had cut illegal colonies and got construction work done there. But now after the notice, action has also started.

The building branch of the Municipal Corporation, after the order of the Commissioner Gautam Jain, ran the machine on two colonies early this morning and demolished the illegal construction. The corporation officials had also issued notices recently to stop the illegal construction going on in these colonies.

ATP Sukhdev Vashishth of the Building Department said that proper notices were issued before demolishing the illegal construction. Those who had cut colonies illegally were asked to get their colony approved as per the rules. Sukhdev Vashishth said that a notice was given to stop the construction work till the colony was approved. But despite the notice, illegal construction continued and today demolition action has been taken on the orders of the Corporation Commissioner.

ATP Sukhdev Vashishth said that on the orders of Corporation Commissioner Gautam Jain, a colony being built without permission on two acres in Ajit Nagar was demolished, where two shops had already been built. Along with this, a ditch machine was used on a 5-acre colony in Kot Ram Das Nagar which was being built without wages. In the coming days, action will continue against the construction work being carried out without wages. At the same time, an appeal is also made to the public to buy plots only in areas where wages are paid.
