    CWG 2026: Ankush Storms Into Boxing Semis, Assures India Another Medal in Men’s 80kg

    Glasgow: Indian boxer Ankush assured the country of another medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026 after storming into the men’s 80kg semifinals with a dominant unanimous-decision victory over Seychelles’ Jade Micock in Glasgow on Tuesday.

    Ankush controlled the bout from the beginning and secured a convincing 5-0 win, winning all three rounds on the judges’ scorecards. The judges awarded him scores of 30-26, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27 and 30-27.

    Ankush Dominates Jade Micock With Unanimous 5-0 Victory

    The Indian boxer displayed excellent ring control, quick combinations and effective counter-attacking throughout the contest. Micock struggled to match Ankush’s pace and accuracy as the Indian fighter maintained complete control of the bout.

    With his semifinal qualification, Ankush has guaranteed himself at least a bronze medal, as both losing semifinalists receive bronze medals in Commonwealth Games boxing.

    He will now look to continue his strong run and secure a place in the final with an aim to win the gold medal for India.

    India’s Boxing Campaign Gains Momentum With Multiple Medals Confirmed

    India’s boxing contingent has delivered a strong performance in Glasgow, with several pugilists advancing deep into the tournament.

    Earlier, Sachin Siwach, Arundhati Chaudhary and Sakshi also secured medals in their respective categories after impressive quarterfinal victories.

    Sachin booked his semifinal spot with a 5-0 unanimous victory, while Arundhati defeated New Zealand’s Morgan Henderson by a 3-1 split decision in the women’s 70kg quarterfinals.

    Sakshi Also Books Medal After Dominant Win

    Sakshi added another medal to India’s tally after defeating Northern Ireland’s Caitlin Fryers with a dominant 5-0 unanimous decision in the women’s quarterfinals.

    She remained in control throughout the bout, winning all three rounds. Four judges scored the contest 29-27, while one judge gave her a 29-25 scoreline.

    With multiple boxers securing medals, India’s boxing team continues to strengthen the country’s medal hopes at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
