Dalai Lama Blesses Newly Ordained Monks at Dharamshala Ceremony

Dharamshala: In Dharamshala, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama concluded an ordination ceremony held at his residence in McLeod Ganj on Friday. He blessed newly ordained monks and nuns with a small statue of the Buddha. The ceremony was attended by young Tibetans and pilgrims from various countries, including Canada, Nepal, Russia, Mongolia, and Vietnam.

In his address, the Dalai Lama said that the Buddha’s teachings are not limited to texts, but rather show the path to inner peace and compassion. He encouraged newly initiated followers to put these teachings into practice and carry the statue with them as a reminder of compassion and nonviolence.

At the beginning of the ceremony, a senior monk requested the Dalai Lama to guide the ordination on behalf of the international novices, which he accepted. The ceremony concluded with the completion of the religious rites. At the conclusion, all novices pledged to serve humanity and spread the message of peace throughout the world.
