A day before the results of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, the common man is under the pressure of inflation. Giving a big shock to its customers, the country’s leading milk-selling company Amul has increased the prices of milk. The revised rates of the milk came into force from today.

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) has announced an increase in milk prices by Rs 2 per litre. Earlier, Bhatsal had increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre. The change in the price of the milk will be reflected across the country.
GCMMF MD Jaiyan Mehta said that from June 3, the price of all types of milk of Amul milk has been increased by Rs 2 per litre. In fact, GCMMF markets milk and dairy products under the ‘Amul’ brand. The last time the GCMMF increased the price of milk was in February 2023.

Mehta further added that the increase is necessary to compensate farmers for their increased cost of production. With the latest increase, 500 ml of Amul buffalo milk is Rs 36, 500 ml of Amul Gold milk is Rs 33 and 500 ml of Amul Shakti is Rs 30.
