DC Vishesh Sarangal declares Jalandhar as ‘No Drone Zone’

Jalandhar: District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal has ordered that the jurisdiction of Jalandhar has been declared as “No Drone Zone” and flight of drones, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is strictly banned with immediate effect. Using the powers conferred by Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, the District Magistrate also ordered that the ban will remain in effect for the next three months from today.

He also clarified that police and armed forces involved in maintaining law and order and using UAVs/drones for the same purpose will have to inform the District Magistrate’s office before deploying the UAVs/drones. Police Commissioner and SSP Jalandhar Rural will ensure implementation of this order.
