Claims Disillusionment with DMK, Email Sent from Coimbatore
According to Delhi Police, the sender of the email identified himself as being from Coimbatore and said that he and his associates were supporters of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) but now felt betrayed. The email alleged that those they supported had been arrested and that neither the media nor the courts had heard their story.
Threats for the second consecutive day, investigation intensified
This incident comes just a day after the Assembly and Speaker Vijender Gupta received a similar threat. The email sent on Tuesday threatened to target the Assembly as well as a nearby metro station.
Delhi Police, given the seriousness of the matter, have launched an investigation and are trying to trace the source of the email. Security has been increased in the Assembly complex and surrounding areas, while the bomb squad and other emergency services are on alert.
Earlier, on February 23rd, Speaker Vijender Gupta received a threatening email from the alleged ‘Khalistan National Army’, threatening to target the Assembly and him.
