Delhi: CM Rekha lays foundation stone of a new foot overbridge near Kashmiri Gate

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta laid the foundation stone for a new foot overbridge on Thursday. This foot overbridge will be built in Monastery Market, Ladakh Buddha Vihar, near the Kashmiri Gate ISBT. The government aims to enhance pedestrian safety and convenience.

The Chief Minister personally laid the foundation stone. This initiative demonstrates the Delhi government’s commitment to development. The market area has a high traffic density, and pedestrian movement is also high near the ISBT. A safe bridge was long-needed. This new bridge will facilitate pedestrians in crossing the road and significantly reduce the risk of accidents. This project will be especially beneficial for residents.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta posted photos on Instagram, writing, “The foundation stone for the foot overbridge at Monastery Market, Ladakh Buddha Vihar, has been laid today. This bridge will be constructed with Ladakhi architecture in mind. It will also include two elevators.”

She further added that the construction of the foot overbridge will provide safe access to people visiting Ladakh Buddha Vihar and Monastery Market. Additionally, traffic on the Ring Road will be more smooth and uninterrupted. Member of Parliament Praveen Khandelwal, Cabinet colleague Pravesh Sahib Singh, Ladakh BJP State President Tashi Gyalson Khachu, and others were present on the occasion.

CM Rekha said, “Today we are happy that the demand of the people of Ladakh Buddha Vihara, which has been pending for years, has been fulfilled. A foot over bridge has been demanded for many years.”

The people here demanded this from the previous government hundreds of times, but that government failed to even complete this small task. Today, even during the short tenure of our government, we are going to fulfill this demand of the people here.
