Monitoring flood situation, all possible help will be provided to victims: Delhi CM

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has said that the government is constantly monitoring the flood situation in the capital Delhi and all possible help is being provided to the affected people. She informed that the government machinery is engaged in relief work round the clock and all necessary facilities including food, water, medical, toilets are being provided to the needy.

The Chief Minister said that the water level of Yamuna is currently decreasing, due to which the situation is expected to gradually return to normal. Despite this, the government is alert and no laxity is being shown in relief and rehabilitation work.

She informed that all District Magistrates (DMs) have been instructed to reach the affected areas and monitor the relief work. The Chief Minister today held an online review meeting with all DMs and Divisional Commissioners from his camp office ‘Mukhyamantri Janseva Sadan’. In the meeting, he gave clear instructions that the people staying in the relief camps should not face any kind of inconvenience and complete arrangements for food, health, cleanliness and security should be ensured.

The Chief Minister said that it is being considered to survey the crops of the farmers affected by the flood and provide appropriate compensation as soon as possible. Along with this, the officials have also been directed to ensure the arrangement of fodder and safe places for the cattle. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also informed that the ministers, MPs, MLAs and other public representatives of the Delhi government are also reaching the affected areas and communicating with the public and contributing to the relief work. This is giving more speed to the administrative action.

She informed that in some border areas, the water of Haryana’s drains is entering Delhi. On this, she has directed the concerned DM to coordinate with the Haryana administration and resolve the problem soon. The Chief Minister clearly said that the life and safety of the flood victims is the top priority for the government. The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), health services and relief teams are ready for every situation. The government is engaged in relief work with full seriousness and sensitivity and assures the public that every possible help will be given to them.
