After Delhi, now bomb threat in Bombay HC: Both courts evacuated, search continues

New Delhi: After Delhi High Court, a bomb threat mail was sent to Bombay High Court. In the email sent to Delhi HC on Friday morning, there was a mention of 3 bombs being placed in the court room. In the threat, it was said that the campus should be vacated before Friday (Juma) afternoon namaz (by 2 pm).

At the same time, Bombay High Court has also been evacuated after a bomb threat email. Lawyers, judges and others have been evacuated. All court rooms are being searched. Bomb squad teams have arrived here.

A bomb threat was received at the Delhi High Court on Friday, prompting the evacuation of the building. The threat letter mentioned that three explosives had been planted in the judge’s chamber and other locations in the building, and warned that the evacuation should be completed by 2 pm.

The letter also mentioned “links with Pakistani ISI cells” and said that “the judge’s chamber will explode shortly after the afternoon Islamic prayers.”

Meanwhile, searches were underway in the court premises, and an official statement from the Delhi Police was awaited.

On Tuesday, bomb threats were received at the Delhi Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and the University College of Medical Sciences in the national capital, which were later declared false.

The police said the threats mentioned that RDX with a blast radius of one kilometre had been planted at three locations.

Immediate and coordinated action was taken under Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with Bomb Detection and Disposal Teams (BDDTs) being deployed at three locations.
