Delhi: Interstate Drug Syndicate Busted in the Capital; 21 kg of Ganja Recovered, Two Arrested

The East District Narcotics Squad has busted a major interstate drug syndicate. The squad has recovered approximately 21 kilograms and 730 grams of ganja (cannabis) and 46 grams of smack. The estimated market value of the recovered narcotics is reported to be around ₹12 lakh. In connection with this case, two drug suppliers, Akbar and Firoz Khan, have been arrested.

The estimated market value of the recovered narcotics is reported to be around ₹12 lakh. In connection with this case, two drug suppliers, Akbar and Firoz Khan, have been arrested.

They were scheduled to pass through the area near the Khichdipur Bus Stand on NH-24, heading towards Akshardham. Acting on a tip-off, the team laid a trap near the Khichdipur Bus Stand on NH-24. Both accused individuals were apprehended while riding a scooter, carrying two white bags. During the search, 21 kilograms and 730 grams of ganja were recovered from the bags. Additionally, approximately 46 grams of smack were found in Firoz Khan’s possession.

The police have registered an FIR under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act. An investigation has been initiated, and efforts are underway to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused’s network. During interrogation, the accused, Firoz Khan, revealed that he had previously been arrested four times in cases involving the supply of *ganja*. He was also booked under the UP Gangster Act in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He further disclosed that he, along with his accomplice Akbar, used to supply narcotics across the Delhi-NCR region.

The primary motive of the accused was to earn financial gain. They viewed drug peddling as an easy way to make quick money. Both accused individuals are part of an organized inter-state drug syndicate. They operated with the objective of earning money through the illicit drug trade. They generated illegal profits by exploiting the vulnerabilities of drug users in urban areas.
