Delhi Police Bust Illegal Gambling Den in Vikaspuri; Four Arrested, ₹74,070 Seized

New Delhi: Delhi Police have busted an illegal gambling den operating from a two-storey jhuggi in Vikaspuri and arrested four alleged gamblers. During the raid, police seized ₹74,070 in suspected gambling stake money along with satta parchis, a chakri and number charts used for betting activities.

Raid Conducted on Specific Intelligence

According to police, the operation was carried out on July 7 after the Special Staff received specific information about an illegal gambling racket being run from Indra Camp No. 4 in Vikaspuri.

A raiding team, led by Inspector Rajesh Maurya under the supervision of senior officers, reached the location and conducted a search. Four people were allegedly found actively gambling, while 16 others were present at the premises.

Kingpin Identified, Search Underway

During the investigation, police identified Shahid as the alleged mastermind behind the gambling racket. Officials said Shahid has previously been involved in five gambling-related cases. His associate, Akram, allegedly collected betting money from gamblers.

Both Shahid and Akram were absent during the raid. Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest the duo while investigating the full extent of the illegal gambling network.

Four Accused Arrested

The arrested accused have been identified as Shekhar (24) of Vikaspuri, Sachin (22) of JJ Colony, Md. Nadeem (31) of Shiv Vihar and Sahil (19) of Uttam Nagar. Police said all four have previous criminal records.

The seized cash and gambling-related materials have been taken into custody as evidence. Police are continuing the investigation to identify other individuals linked to the racket.
