Delhi Police detains five Bangladeshi nationals, had been staying illegally in India since 2017

New Delhi: Delhi Police recently detained five Bangladeshi nationals—three men and two women—who had been staying illegally in Delhi. The individuals, identified as Akash (26), Chamili Khatun (26), Mohd. Nahim (27), Halima Begum (40), and Mohd. Usman (13), were found in the Palam area after they had recently arrived from Haryana, where they were working at brick kilns.

The Operations Cell of the South West District received information on July 13 about the presence of illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Palam Village. Acting on this tip-off, police approached the suspects, requested their identification documents, and conducted thorough questioning. The individuals failed to produce valid documents and admitted to being illegal migrants who entered India unlawfully in 2017. They revealed that they had been working at brick kilns in Kosli, Rewari, Haryana, but had recently left their employment and moved to Delhi seeking new labor work.

The police completed the verification process and initiated the deportation procedures through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

Earlier in the day, Delhi police also deported two other Bangladeshi nationals, Shahadatt and Mohammad Anwar, who had been illegally staying in the Dwarka district. The police had raided the area on receiving information about their presence. During interrogation, both revealed they had entered India illegally from Bangladesh. They were subsequently produced at the FRRO office in R.K. Puram, and after completing necessary formalities, they were deported from Delhi following the proper legal procedure.
