Delhi Police Bust ISI-Backed Inter-State Terror, Arms Network; Four Arrested for Plotting Attack

New Delhi: Delhi Police’s Special Cell has busted an alleged ISI-linked terror module and arrested four men from Punjab and Delhi for allegedly conspiring to carry out a terror attack in the national capital. Officials said the group was operating under the direction of a Pakistan-based handler identified as Shahzad Bhatti.

Accused Identified, Arms Recovered

The arrested accused have been identified as Shubdeep Singh (23), Gurjant Singh (22), Sajan Singh (28), and Gaganpreet (24). Three are residents of Punjab, while one is from Delhi.

Police recovered two foreign-made pistols, nine live cartridges, and five mobile phones during the operation.

Arrests Based on Intelligence Inputs

According to officials, the arrests were made following specific intelligence inputs about the group’s activities. A Special Cell team carried out coordinated raids in Delhi and Punjab, leading to multiple arrests.

The first arrest was made in Amritsar, followed by the detention of two more accused from different locations in Punjab. The fourth accused was later apprehended in Delhi.

Alleged Cross-Border Links and Drone Deliveries

Investigators claimed the accused were in regular contact with Pakistani handlers through foreign numbers and social media platforms to avoid surveillance.

Police also alleged that the group was receiving arms and narcotics dropped via drones from across the border and distributing them within India.

Reconnaissance of Sensitive Locations

Officials further stated that one of the accused had allegedly conducted reconnaissance of police stations and religious places in Delhi and was planning a firing incident in the city.

Investigators are also probing the digital trail and communication records to identify other members of the network.

Previous Criminal Backgrounds Under Scanner

Police said some of the accused have prior cases under the NDPS Act and were allegedly involved in receiving drone-dropped consignments of drugs and weapons near the India-Pakistan border.

Investigation Continues

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. Further investigation is underway, and officials have not ruled out more arrests in the coming days.
