Delhi Police Bust Interstate Drug Racket, 5 Held With Malana Charas

New Delhi: In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Delhi Police has busted an interstate drug peddling network and arrested five accused persons. During the operation, police recovered 4,804 grams of high-grade Malana Charas, officials said on Thursday.

According to police, the accused were allegedly involved in supplying narcotic substances from Himachal Pradesh to Delhi and other states. The contraband, commonly known as “Malana Cream,” is considered one of the most potent forms of charas sourced from the Malana region of Himachal Pradesh.

The operation was carried out by a special team of the Delhi Police after receiving specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of drug consignments in the national capital. Acting on the tip-off, police laid a trap and apprehended the suspects. Subsequent searches led to the seizure of 4.804 kg of charas from their possession.

Investigators revealed that the accused were part of an organised interstate syndicate engaged in the procurement and distribution of narcotic substances. Police suspect the network had links in Himachal Pradesh and several metropolitan cities where the contraband was being supplied.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway to trace other members of the syndicate and identify the source of the narcotics.
