Delhi Police Arrest 16 Drug Offenders in Major Crackdown Under Operation Kavach-14.0

New Delhi: The Delhi Police, in pursuance of the zero tolerance policy against narcotic drugs and drug trafficking, arrested 16 accused and made recoveries of drugs during an operation launched under the ongoing ‘Operation Kavach-14.0’ to dismantle narcotics supply networks and curb the menace of drug trafficking.

Coordinated Raids by ANS, Special Staff and West District Police

Dedicated teams of the Anti-Narcotics Squad (ANS), Special Staff, and police stations of West District conducted sustained intelligence-based raids, surveillance, and targeted operations against drug peddlers and traffickers operating within the district, said the police in a press statement on Sunday.

What is Operation Kavach-14.0

Operation Kavach is a special anti-crime and anti-narcotics drive launched by Delhi Police to identify, disrupt, and dismantle drug trafficking networks operating in the capital. The operation is conducted in multiple phases across districts, focusing on intelligence-based enforcement, raids, and coordinated action against drug suppliers and peddlers. The “14.0” denotes the 14th phase of this ongoing crackdown initiative.

13 NDPS Cases Registered; Multiple Drugs Seized

During the operation, 13 NDPS cases were registered, and 16 accused, including two women, were apprehended.

The operations led to the recovery of:

• 32.161 kg ganja
• 89.77 grams smack
• 9.8 grams cocaine
• 6.62 grams MDMA

Besides narcotics, one three-wheeler (auto), one scooty, one mobile phone, and ₹1,450 in cash were also recovered.

Key Arrests and Case Details

The Anti-Narcotics Squad registered a case (FIR No. 314/2026) under sections 20(c)/29 of the NDPS Act at Punjabi Bagh police station, arresting four accused Mithun Kumar, Vikram Kumar, Sanjay Yadav, and Md. Rizwan with a recovery of 23.160 kg ganja (commercial quantity).

Another case (FIR No. 265/2026) under sections 22/25 NDPS Act at Rajouri Garden police station led to the arrest of Ram Kumar, along with recovery of 6.62 grams MDMA and a three-wheeler.

The Special Staff also registered a case (FIR No. 268/2026) under section 21 NDPS Act at Rajouri Garden police station, recovering 9.8 grams cocaine and one scooty from an accused.

Additionally, four separate cases were detected involving recovery of 89.77 grams of smack, leading to arrests across Tilak Nagar, Punjabi Bagh, Khyala, and Vikas Puri police stations.

The Delhi Police said sustained action under Operation Kavach-14.0 reflects their commitment to eliminating the drug menace and dismantling narcotics supply chains through intelligence-led policing and coordinated enforcement.
